Quarterly Foreshore Operational Review - 1Q 24-25
The quarterly foreshore operational review for 1Q 24-25 has now been published.
The latest Operations Quarterly Review for July – September 2024 is now available, providing insights into key developments, achievements, and challenges in managing the Whitecliffs to Camerons Bight Foreshore Reserve.
This quarter saw major progress in infrastructure upgrades, environmental initiatives, and community engagement, with highlights including:
Camping Amenity Block Upgrades nearing completion.
Successful launch of online camping bookings on July 1st.
Community-driven beach clean-up efforts in collaboration with Parks Victoria.
Installation of new fire services at Camerons Bight – a milestone 30 years in the making.
Engagement with local and state stakeholders, including meetings with MPSC Coastal Planning and DEECA on asset renewal grants.
Despite these successes, challenges such as ongoing system issues with online bookings, delays in foreshore drone surveys due to weather conditions, and coordination of dog policy changes with the Shire remain key focus areas moving forward.
Looking ahead, the next quarter will focus on finalising the foreshore survey, launching new accommodation options online, and progressing further CMMP consultation and development.
