The Whitecliffs
Foreshore Environment.

Coasts are dynamic environments subjected to thousands of years of wind, waves, changing sea levels and indigenous history. Whitecliffs is a mesh of unique characteristics that we strive to manage in a sensitive and sustainable way so that it is here to enjoy for generations to come.

We allocate revenue generated from camping in order to maintain high-quality vegetation areas and improve low-medium quality areas. Find updates on the news page.

Important features of the Whitecliffs environment

  • Remnant Moonah Woodland in Blairgowrie - Some trees are estimated to be up to 500 years old! This means they were here when settlers first landed at Collins Settlement.

  • Home to many native orchid species - most notably there are three Leafy Greenhood sites across the foreshore.

Key vegetation management strategies

1. Protect and enhance high-quality retention areas and orchid colonies

2. Protect and enhance the rare Moonah Woodland and endangered Adriana and rare Wirilda

3. Target highly invasive weeds
