Key Highlights

🔹 Accommodation Expansion Completed – The trial expansion, including new pods and a tiny home, was delivered on time and within budget, with successful integration into Airbnb and NewBook.

🔹 $42,000 Asset Upgrade Grant Secured – Funding obtained for a new barbecue shelter at Flinders East, scheduled for installation in February 2025.

🔹 Junior Ranger Program Success – Over 50 attendances recorded, with BirdLife Australia helping deliver engaging sessions.

🔹 Environmental Conservation Wins – Native Eastern Rosellas successfully nested in our maintained nest boxes, and invasive species were removed.

🔹 Flinders East Block Demolished – Clearing the way for future improvements, with a temporary toilet installed for summer visitors.

🔹 Community & Training Engagement – Staff completed First Aid training, attended a Bendigo Bank Business Breakfast, and participated in an E-bike tour at Point Nepean for team-building.

Challenges Addressed

⚠️ Orchid Habitat Vandalism – Restoration plans underway after a section of protected habitat was illegally cleared.

⚠️ Wastewater Issues in Accommodation – Additional tank capacity and chemical solutions were implemented to manage the tiny house’s wastewater system.

⚠️ Dredging & Camping Disruptions – Last-minute adjustments were made to relocate affected campers due to unexpected dredging at Camerons Bight.

Looking ahead, key focuses for the next quarter include completing the annual foreshore survey via drone, installing Rotary-funded picnic tables, and progressing with the CMMP development.
