October Beach Patrol
This Sunday was my favourite @3942blairgowriebeachpatrol clean yet. The skies cleared for our 20 volunteers to get down and dirty for the coastline that they LOVE.
With the floods, our bay, coasts and its inhabitants are under so much extra stress. So turning up, doing our bit made it feel like what we did made an impact (even though some of our finding were truly gross)
We retrieved:
155 cans and bottles (all now recycled)
150-200 cigarettes butts
Metres and metres of fishing line from the #blairgowriepier
A full tub of soft plastics, other recyclables and general waste. And so much more not listed here.
Most litter was collected from the @blairgowrieyachtsquadron and surrounding car parks, walking tracks and the pier itself. Hopefully the general community can support litter collection in these locations in the future.
