Black Swan Conservation

You may have noticed some seasonal visitors have recently returned to the foreshore! These Black Swans (Cygnus atratus) continuously return in Autumn to the calm waters, feeding on seagrass & algae before departing again for Winter.

The arrival of the Black Swans serves as a great reminder as to why it is important to obey the signage & dog regulations across the foreshore. We are lucky to have a large portion of the beach designated as a leash-free area, outside of this area all dogs must be on a leash. This ensures the safety of native wildlife such as the Black Swans, as well as the safety of dogs.
